While I was sitting taking care of some business, an image of a clock flashed across my sight and then the term “upgrade” stroked my mind. As we are aware, a clock is an instrument used to tell time. So this clock was declaring “It’s Time For Upgrade!!!” Now before you get all excited about this Holy Ghost inspired now-moment word or even be exuberant about it being a confirmation, do you qualify for upgrade? 🤔

Interestingly, even though I knew what Father was saying, I found myself in that moment asking Him the question: “Do I qualify?”. The truth is, although it’s time for upgrade, everyone does not qualify.

How Do I Know If I Qualify?

The three qualifying indicators I’ve received after asking the question are: the presence of something broken in your life, being on the releasing end or being favoured.

– Something Broken

Many of you are at a place where something in your life has been broken or even shattered. As you look at the pieces laying on the floor, every bit of it screams “hopeless!”. However, it is the presence of that broken/shattered thing which qualifies you for upgrade. So I declare Heaven’s decree to you – “It’s Time For Upgrade!!!” The reason that thing was broken or shattered is because Love was and still is looking out for your best. Had He not given the enemy permission to break and in some cases shatter that thing, you wouldn’t have qualified for this upgrade. YHVH knew that a time of upgrade was upon us and in order for you to qualify, He had to trust you with trouble. Your trouble is not an indication of neglect; it was His way of guaranteeing your elevation. Like David, you’ve been pursued by King Saul and you chose not to touch what YHVH had set apart, even when your life was at stake. Now I decree to you that because you have honoured the LORD, your time to be honoured has come.

– On The Releasing End

Apostle Paul summoning the Ephesian-elders of the Messianic Community declared, “You know that I held back nothing that could be helpful to you, and that I taught you both in public and from house to house” (Acts 20:20 CJB emphasized). Those of you who have likewise been on the releasing end, giving and giving and giving out of obedience and faithfulness, are qualified for this upgrade. Although there were times that you’ve spent yourself at your own expense, you did it cheerfully. Did I not say I love cheerful givers, gives seed to sowers and I am the One who brings increase? Increase is now upon you! It’s your time to be replenished!

– Favour

In 2 Kings 2, we are told of Prophet Eliyahu’s transition to Heaven in a whirlwind. Now, “…Eliyahu and Elisha were on their way from Gilgal, when Eliyahu said to Elisha, “Please wait here, because [YHVH] has sent me all the way to Beit-El…” (2 Kings 2:1-2 CJB). However, Prophet Elisha replied, “…As [YHVH] lives, and as you live, I will not leave you…” (2 Kings 2:2 CJB). So from Gilgal to Beit-El, Beit-El to Yericho and from Yericho to Yarden, Prophet Elisha refused to disconnect from Prophet Eliyahu. “After they had crossed [Yarden], Eliyahu said to Elisha, “Tell me what I can do for you before I am taken away from you.” Elisha said, “Please! Let a double share of your spirit be on me!” (2 Kings 2:9 CJB personalized). According to the Modern English Version, Prophet Eliyahu said to Prophet Elisha “…Ask for something, and I will do it for you before I am taken away from you…” (2 Kings 2:9 MEV emphasized). Interestingly, Prophet Eliyahu responded “…You have asked a hard thing…” (2 Kings 2:10 CJB). Why would he say that after assuring Prophet Elisha that whatever he requested would be granted? What was so hard in that? Was Prophet Elisha being selfish with his request?

According to Jewish customs, the double portion/share was the portion set aside for the eldest son {Check Deuteronomy 21:17}. This speaks of seniority as well as covenant relationship or alignment. Although Prophet Elisha had covenant-relationship/alignment, he lacked the chief qualifying element – seniority. He was the last of the Prophets to be a part of the company/school of the Prophets {Check 1 Kings 19:19-21}. This is what posed the difficulty; Prophet Elisha wasn’t the first/eldest of the Prophets. He wasn’t there from the beginning of Prophet Eliyahu’s Ministry; yet when Prophet Eliyahu found him plowing with the twelve yoke of oxen, Scripture reveals that “…Eliyahu went over to him and threw his cloak on him” (1 Kings 19:19 CJB). Prophet Elisha’s request wasn’t selfish; he was already divinely handpicked for the transference. The favour of YHVH was with him from the onset, and now the time had come for favour to sit upon him. Prophet Elisha did not receive the double portion because he was the first son, he got it by divine favour. Favour will bring you from beneath the pack and catapult you right to the top! We are in a time when YHVH is “…[raising] up the poor out of the dust and [lifting] up the oppressed from the dunghill to make them sit with princes and inherit a throne of glory. For…Earth belongs to [Him]…” (1 Samuel 2:8 MEV personalized).

Qualified Ones, you’re in for an upgrade in those broken/shattered places of your life, in those places where you’ve obediently, faithfully and cheerfully fulfilled your assignments as well as in those places where the order/customs of man disqualifies you from being the choice.
